Housing strategies and policies

This section contains details of Strategies and Policies for the Housing Policy and Service department.  Where there are document that support the strategy these have been included on the same page.  The following documents are available.

Housing Strategy

This is the overall strategy for housing in Coventry 2003-2008.  The document was updated in 2005 and is supported by the research document Coventry in Context.

Coventry Housing Statement

The Housing Statement was published in 2007 and presents a vision of housing development in Coventry for the next 10 to 20 years.

Homelessness Strategy

The Homelessness Strategy deals with the issue of homelessness across the full range of needs in the city. It was developed in partnership with the local homelessness agencies and runs from 2005-2010.

BME Housing Strategy

The Black and Minority Ethnic Housing Strategy was published in 2007 and looks at the specific housing needs of Black and Minority ethnic communities in the city. It is supported by the BME Strategy Context Document.

Empty Homes Strategy

The Empty Homes Strategy details the approach that the council is taking to deal with the blight of empty home in the city.

Supporting People Strategy

The Supporting People Strategy deals with the provision of Supported housing services from Domestic Violence Refuges to Sheltered Housing.

Private Sector Housing Strategy and Housing Assistance policy

This document is the city council's strategy for improving housing conditions in owner occupied and privately rented homes in Coventry.
