Strategic Plans for Cabinet Members
Each of our ten Cabinet Members has responsibility for a particular area of the City Council's work - this area of responsibility is called their portfolio. All the Cabinet Members now have a three-year Strategic Plan for their portfolio as part of the City Council’s performance management framework.
These plans set out the main strategic objectives for each portfolio that will contribute to the delivery of our corporate objectives.
How do the Cabinet Members' Strategic Plans fit in with other plans?
The Council's performance framework is based upon three levels of plan:
- The Corporate Plan 2007/08 - 2009/10;
- Cabinet Member Strategic Plans 2007/08 - 2009/10;
- Operational plans - 2007/08.
All the plans respond to our corporate objectives and priorities, and are designed to provide the right information at different levels so that performance can be managed.
How will the plans be used?
The Cabinet Members' Strategic Plans are the main focus for formal reporting to members, through Scrutiny and Cabinet, and are used in forward planning. The plans are not intended to be comprehensive and do not include everything that we do as a council - this level of detail is covered by operational and team plans that are used by heads of service, managers and employees.
